Joists, Footing and Interior Walls

Due to extreme degradation, we replaced ~ 75% of the existing roof and floor joists mostly with LVLs. Where we did not replace we enhanced the strength of the member by adding a sister.  We also renovated each joist pocket ensuring masonry strength and airtightness. In the basement, we excavated and replaced the cut stone footing with reinforced concrete footings.  We then parged all interior masonry surfaces from the footing to the parapet with lime plaster formulated to match the existing common brick and lime mortar walls enhancing the strength of the historic common brick and lime mortar walls while resulting in an air tight, water tight and vapor open assembly.
